Mainly interested in bioinformatics, neurodegenerative diseases and genetics with a growing interest in programming linked to biology and medicine.

Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and both Director and Principal Investigator of the Algarve Biomedical Center Research Institute, University of Algarve.
Main research interests are gene therapy for rare diseases, especially those affecting the nervous system.

Invited Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and post-doctoral researcher at the Algarve Biomedical Center Research Institute, University of Algarve.
Carlos’ research is focused on the molecular mechanisms underlying hereditary disorders of the nervous system, especially polyglutamine diseases.
